Burger Press/Shawarma Cart

Shawarma Cart is a locally owned and operated restaurant based in Edina, Minnesota. The owner is an Egyptian-American restaurateur who’s spent his entire career running food trucks and restaurants in the Twin Cities. He’s always dreamt of bringing the distinct flavors of Cairo to the Midwest. Our menu pays homage to Egyptian street food and Shawarma Cart started to fill a gap that existed in Minnesota. Our inspiration comes from a mix of Mediterranean flavors, with spices and sauces that elevate our dishes. We use high-quality ingredients, halal meats, and house-made sauces, including our very hot sauce (warning!) and toom (garlic). None of what we do would be possible without our amazing employees.

Burger Press also offers American flare with beloved smashed burgers that everyone loves. We have Chicago style hot dogs, cheesesteaks and appetizers like onion rings, cheese curds and Greek seasoned fries. Our catering menu for both restaurants comes with a variety of toppings of your choice such as sumac onions & pickles for the rice bowls.
