B. E. Riley Consulting

Through B. E. Riley Consulting, I specialize in group facilitation; coaching and training; and community engagement. I bring experience from the public health arena, nonprofit sector, and all levels of government to support positive change. I am a Certified Technology of Participation (ToP®) Facilitator and Mentor Trainer, using internationally recognized facilitation tools that emphasize authentic participation by all, and have honed my facilitation practice by working alongside  local, state and national clients.

Many facilitation processes begin by reviewing traditional sources of data to inform planning. I have learned the importance of honoring people’s stories, too. When possible, making room for stakeholders to safely share and examine the stories they tell about their experiences with an organization goes a long way to highlight strengths to build on and challenges to address. 

As a white woman, I am dedicated to using a racial equity lens with clients. This means acknowledging power imbalances and working to rebalance them; moving decisions closer to those impacted; promoting a sense of belonging to build positive connections; encouraging individual and group self-knowledge to foster equity; and creating hospitable engagement opportunities where all participants feel welcome.

My client list ranges from small businesses to nonprofits of all sizes to government agencies.
