Renewable Energy Partners, Inc. (REP) was founded in 2013 by Jamez Staples as one of Minnesota’s only Black-owned and led solar development firms.  REP offers comprehensive clean energy development services with its own in-house capacity and strategic contractual partnerships.  These services include portfolio-wide assessments of clean energy capacities, financing and ownership strategies, electrical engineering and design, procurement of the most cost-effective equipment, installation of solar arrays, interconnection and commissioning of systems.  REP is also gaining experience in other advanced solar-based technologies such as battery storage, building electrification and electric vehicle infrastructure.  REP is up-to-date on the latest federal and state policy goals and incentives for renewable energy that benefit its clients.

REP also has a deeply embedded social justice mission to pursue projects that have benefits for under-served communities and that create training and employment opportunities for low-income and BIPOC residents and young adults entering the field.  REP has demonstrated its commitment to equity goals by leading the development of a Clean Energy and Climate Economy career skills training center in North Minneapolis that has a goal to train 500 new green economy workers a year.  Recent REP projects have included community solar gardens serving low-income households, and community resiliency hubs to support vulnerable communities during extended power outages. We are excited to work with corporate and institutional clients that share our commitment to equity and justice in the transition to clean energy systems.
