Supplier Diversity
University of Minnesota Supplier Diversity Program
A strong and diverse supply chain creates competition, cost savings, innovation, and economic growth in the communities where we live and work.
The Office for Supplier Diversity (OSD) supports Targeted Businesses (businesses owned and operated by BIPOC, women, and/or disabled individuals), as well as other small or underserved businesses in our community. OSD also works closely with non-Targeted Businesses who are interested in subcontracting with Targeted Businesses on University contracts, and our services are available to all small businesses interested in doing business with the University.
OSD strengthens local underserved businesses by offering training and support, while connecting them with University purchasers and prime vendors seeking subcontractors. In doing so, it leverages the University’s resources to foster impactful economic partnerships within our communities.
The University is committed to using its purchasing power to enhance employment and business opportunities for Targeted Businesses and other small and underserved businesses throughout the Minnesota. Through proactive outreach, strategic partnerships, and robust program data analysis and reporting, the OSD seeks to fulfill the mission of the University's supplier diversity program.
