CHI Organization Internship Application
This application is for community-based nonprofit organizations or small businesses seeking to host a University of Minnesota graduate student seeking a summer internship.
Note: Student intern salary will be paid by the Office for Business & Community Economic Development and the CHI Program.
Timeframe/Hours
CHI Community Internships are offered during the summer and are located and supervised at the host organization's site.

Please Note: Although the duration of the internship is from late May to the end of August (approximately 14-15 weeks), internships can start and end anytime within this timeframe.
Organization Eligibility Qualifications
- A health or medical community-based nonprofit organization or small business serving economically disadvantaged communities and/or communities of color
- Located in the Twin Cities metropolitan area
- In operation for at least three years
- Nonprofit organizations must be 501(c)(3) Certified
- Businesses must be Women, Minority or Disabled-owned
- Able to clearly define internship scope, goals, objectives and deliverables
- Able to provide on-going educational experience and supervision to students
- Able to attend a pre-internship orientation session and provide a post-internship evaluation
- Able to provide student intern with space and technical accommodations
- Able to pay an Administrative Fee of $150.00 (if your internship proposal is selected)
