CHI Organization Consulting Application

This application is for community-based nonprofits, government agencies or small businesses seeking consulting services from a University of Minnesota graduate student. This Student Consulting Project will assist those organizations that focus directly on addressing public health issues or health disparities in underserved, socially and economically challenged communities.

Project Information

  • Projects offered during the Fall and Spring semesters
  • One or more students assigned to a project; each student contributing 60-80 hours
  • Projects completed within semester timeframe, approximately 3 ½ months
  • Student consultants are paid by the CHI Program Manager at project completion
  • All currently enrolled graduate and professional students are eligible to participate

Organization Eligibility Qualifications

  • health or medical community-based nonprofit organization or small business serving economically disadvantaged communities and/or communities of color
  • Government Agencies with a community public health or medical related project
  • Located in the Twin Cities metropolitan area
  • In operation for at least three years
  • Nonprofits must be 501(c)(3) Certified
  • Businesses must be Women-, Minority- or Disabled-owned
  • Able to clearly define project scope, goals, objectives and deliverables
  • Able to provide on-going educational experience and supervision to students
  • Able to attend a pre-project orientation session and provide a post-project evaluation
  • Able to pay an Administrative Fee of $100.00 (if your project is selected)
