MTAP Student Consulting Application

Preferred Qualifications

  • Students from socially and economically disadvantaged or ethnically diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • Experience with underserved community of color or nonprofit organizations

Students who participate in the program

  • Gain valuable experience working with community-based nonprofit organizations or businesses serving diverse communities
  • Develop hands-on professional skills
  • Improve their communications and consulting skills
  • Are exposed to potential careers and new community engagement opportunities
  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-life management and operational situations
  • Should expect to spend approximately 60-80 hours on the project throughout the semester
  • Should complete their projects within the timeframe of Fall or Spring semester
  • Will have to submit a Work Plan at the start and a Final Report & Evaluation at the completion of the project
  • Will be paid a $1,120.00 (minus taxes) consulting payment at project completion
